Cevapcici with savory vegetable rice

Ingredients for 10 persons

cevapcici pork:

vegetable rice:

  • 600 g parboiled rice
  • 1.5 l vegetable broth
  • 5 small red onions
  • 200 g frozen green peas
  • 3 pieces of red pepper
  • 200 g butter
  • 1 bunch of fresh thyme

Garnish:

  • salt
  • pepper
  • curry powder
  • sweet paprika

Preparation

vegetable rice:

  • Cook the rice in the broth until al dente. Cut the bell pepper into small cubes and the red onions into rings. Finely pluck 1/3 of the thyme. Then melt the butter in the pan and toss the diced paprika, onion rings and peas in them until translucent. Season the whole thing with curry and paprika powder. Add the cooked rice and season with salt and pepper. Add the finely plucked thyme and mix everything well.

cevapcici pork:

  • Heat the pork cevapcici according to the preparation recommendation: Microwave: 600 W, approx. 43 min., pan: braise on both sides at medium heat for approx. 12-15 min., combi-Steamer: pre-heated at 160°C for approx. 17-20 min., oven: convection (preheated) at 160°C for approx. 18-20 min.

Serving

Arrange the vegetable rice with the cevapcici and garnish with the remaining thyme sprigs.
